Hey guys I'm wondering what to use for piping from an storage tank to a factory?I model in N scale and any tips for working with that product would be greatly appreciated.Thank you
A few small kits I have (in HO) use wire for piping. I guess it depends on the diameter of your pipe, but you should be able to find wire of appropriate gauge to use for "smallish" pipes.
I'm sure you'll get a few more suggestions in a minute or two...!
What I use depends on the size, it's pretty technical:
Itsy-bitsy: small magnet wire
teeny-weeny: larger magnet wire
small: small buss wire
medium: larger bus wire
large: small brass rod or tubing
very large: larger brass tubing
Somewhere in between would be differing gauges of stripped or insulated copper wire, clothes hangers, metal or plastic, and drinking straws and coffee stirs
Menards has a selection of brass rod and tubing from itsy-bitsy up to huge.
Plastruct has tubing in many diameters, and gorgeous fittings, 90 and 45 degree elbows, check valves, flanges, really neat stuff. Check www.plastruct.com
I've seen plastic sprues that held model parts used effectively as piping. They come in good curved shapes and have varied diameters. A good use for throw away parts!

There are also stove pipe wire and florist's wire. These are a bit softer than some others and just lie there after you shape them. They seem to come in smaller sizes; I plan to use some florists wire for HO drainpipes.
