I'm thinking about buying the new set of California Zephyr passenger cars but don't know the length of these cars. Can anyone help me out here.

Ron,

I could be wrong here but my understanding is that they are the same as the previous Kato Budd Stainless. If someone else can confirm this to be true, I'll happily measure my CP set which includes every type of car.

Hi Owen,

That would be great if someone could confirm that. Being I had no response last night I E-mailed Mark at 4-N-Scale. I thought he would answer sixty footer, seventy footer etc. He E-mailed me back this morning saying they were six and one quarter inches long. Would that help you out? If you could measure one of yours I sure would appreciate it.

Ron,

Try the following out:

RPO & Baggage: 5 3/8"
Coaches: 5 7/8"
Diner: 6 1/8"
Domes: 6 1/8"
Sleepers 6 1/8"
Obs ( Non Dome type): 6 1/2"

Give or take an 1/8" (would make them say 6 1/4" depending where you measure from (I didn't include the coupler lengths)
