Is there something of a story about these two models that I haven't yet learned. I've seen them advertised now several times, yet have no idea if they are based on real equipment or the fig newton of someone imagination!!??

Oscar and Piker are reissues of two cars that Walthers did many many years ago.The were/are a tongue in cheek solution to modelers with tight HO curves trying to run proto length passenger cars. They are definately somebodys "fig newton" of their imagination.:D :D

Bill is correct that they are a very shortened version of an observation car and a dining car that sit on one three axle truck.

I think my grandkids would get a bang out of them being pulled behind the UP 0-6-0 switcher I have. Only wish I could get them in either UP or undecorated. The ones in the Walther catalog(ue) are Amtrak ( not on my layout) ot ATSF, which I suppose I could modify.

Thanks for all the input. I appreciate it. Always fun to learn.
