Was in our local hobby shop today, they are here too, been in the store for a week, $400.00 Canadian OUCH !!!! Checked a few prices in the big city, same price. Way too rich for this modelers budget. I do not know what it sells for elsewhere in Canada or US , nice runner, looks great but the price ??? Ron...
Those are beautiful, but I'm not spending any more money on Bachman geared steam. I bought two HO Shays, one HO climax. As well as one On30 climax. The HO shays did not pull well or track well. I traded one away it died on it's subsequent owner. My remaining shay's line shaft gears split. I have aftermarket replacements. But have not installed them yet.
The Ho Climax performed excellently for about a year before it's gears broke.
The On30 climaxes gears broke in about an hours worth of testing. In my opinion it would have been a good idea to make the drives less accurately scaled, and more robust.
