Recently when i click "new posts" i've been getting more new posts from all the other forums i don't read. I'd like to limit (or create my own) new post search to only search w/in the gauge section of the site, any tips?

You can do just that. Go to your user CP (top left on the action bar), go to "edit options" and on the bottom of the screen is a list of all forums here, including those that you are not interested in. Hold down your "Ctrl" key and select the ones you don't want to see in your "new posts", then click on "save options".
Perfect, thank you!! I previously only selected the top level of each of the forums i didn't want. I selected all the sub forums this time and it works much better that way.
