I'm new to the Forum and new to H O railroading so you may see a lot of questions from me in the future. 1st question. I have a set by Rivarossi that has a 2 8 8 2 engine #2197N&W . the set is in 2 Boxes with 12 freight cars and also some track. There is a # 16700 on the end of the 2 main cartons. I have'nt been able to find out when it was made. It's a beautiful set and seems to be mint. any info would be appreciated. Nosixoften

as to the age what size are the flanges(on the drivers the part that sets inside the track) if they are large . i have one rivarossi # 1238 price tag says $59.95 that puts in the late 60,s from looking at ads from that area.

Thanks Jim,,I'm not really sure about the flanges. however the track that is included looks like it is code 100. Gene
 
Welcome to the hobby. What you have is probably rather old as Rivarossi train sets havent been around for a while. You have found a good source of information here so ask all the questions you want.
