Just a little more history on that Mig-25 that defected. When they examined the aircaft, they found all the electronics were miniature vacuum tubes. Everyone in the West thought they were so far behind. Then someone realized, that if a nuclear device was set off, all our *solid state* electronics would be wiped out due to the EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse IIRC) while tubes would survive this. All our aircraft would be grounded while theirs were still capable. A bit off topic I know, but it was an interesting side note (at least to me <G>). Eric
