Here is 2nd engine in HO scale:D , A UP C44-9W. It is a Athearn dummy right out of the box (or in this case, right out of the display case) with no added detail parts yet, but hopfully soon I can get both my BNSF DASH 8-40B and my UP C44-9W detailed like the proto type like Deano (UP SD40-2) does:thumb: :D

Nice diesel Josh! :thumb: Athearn does a nice job. I have a few of their Nscale diesels and they have the most detailing of any manufacturer of plastic out there.

Here is a BNSF/UP mixed freight train I put together for the new engine:D

I don't have any BNSF cars in this train but I do have some BN. The only freight cars I have for BNSF are coal hoppers:oops:  Guess I need to get some boxcars, hoppers, flats and some gondolas.

Thanks Herc, I like it a lot, Maybe Deano can tell me what I should get to detail this loco. Im going to go find a prototype #9711 in UP

Nice Josh!!!

WOW! , NICE Dash-9 Josh!!!:thumb::D . i ALSO REALLY like your UP mech reefer and GB&W thrall box!!:thumb: :thumb: as far as your Dash-9 detailing goes, heres some of what you would need to detail it up; CNW/UP type plow, hoses, low mount MU socket, Sinclair type antenna, grab irons(i would at least put the 4 grabs on top of the hood;) ), sun shades, and some warning decals. there could possibly be more, your idea to find the prototype is a GREAT idea!:thumb::D if you detail it up. PLEASE post it Josh!:D GREAT TRAIN you made up:thumb: , though if it were MINE, you can bet the UP would be on the point;) sign1 :D -Deano **EDIT: Tom posted a pic of it while i was writing:thumb: , THANKS TOM!!:D i don't know how he does it, but Tom can ALWAYS seem to find a pic of whatever is needed:thumb: . **EDIT#2: Josh, the BEST UP/CNW type plow out there is made by Details West, Walthers #235-234 i bought a bunch of UP/CNW plows from Atlas, so most all my engines have them on, but if you check out my UP SD45T-2, that has the Details West plow on it, FAR SUPERIOR then the Atlas brand:thumb: . BTW, if you decide NOT to weather that engine, you could always say it came from the Rock Valley Subtooth1 , here, we take GREAT PRIDE in keeping our UP engines clean;):D...well, except for a couple of themtooth1. sign1

Thanks Deano, for that list of detail parts and thanks Tom for the pic. Ok here are 3 pics of the prototype UP #9711 (the first of which is the one that Tom found) and two pics of the BNSF #8630

Miles, the flatcar is an Athearn (it doesn't say it but I recognize the bottom of the car and it looks identical to the bottoms of the Athearn boxcars) and it is a 40'er. I am not sure what the original road was on because it has been painted over at least twice because there is green and red paint on the bottom of the weight and chassis. It has a wooden deck added and chains have been added also.

I hate to see the pair lashed up... UP and BNSF do NOT belong together, though I have seen a fair amount of that lately (at least before I left Washington in January), UGH. It totally disgraces UP to be seen with such "unfashionable" units...

run away before UP SD40 sees that.
