So, I have (pretty much) finished my (small) BSG diorama. I have decided to start an new project Based on the request of my fiance, after seeing the thread that @Revell-Fan had started).

Yes, I am building all three. However, unlike UHU02, I am building only one at a time.

Here they are, Maintenance robots 'Dewey', 'Huey' and 'Louie' (designed by UHU02).

Here are the parts for the base of the front face.

When you assemble these components, pay close attention to the instructions and how things go together. The extra flaps are used for mating up the parts properly.

I was going to make both chips, but I decided to only make one and use the other top of the chip as a fake.

You shall be among the very few honored to build these, great start! I read on his forum and his list people people he acknowledges giving these to is pretty darn short. Around 56 people. I know you will build yours, I wonder how many of the other people will build theirs?

In any event, Good Luck. UHU has dishonored himself, and I won't take part in anything having to do with him. Ever consider BSG'ing one of these little guys? That would be awesome, and you could pull it off. :)

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement.
As for making these in a BSG theme, They would fit nicely in that universe. I will think about it. If I do, I might use these guys in 1:48/1:50 scale and drop one or two in the large diorama (as an easter egg) to see if anyone spots it.

I think they would fit in really great!! :)

I think they would fit in really great!! :)

1. "Silent Running" & "BSG" are both made, (c), TM & R by Universal.

2. VFX work for SL was done by Doug Trumbull (master) & John Dykstra (apprentice); John Dykstra became the VFX master on BSG. Several other members of the team joined him for BSG; some later went to ILM, some to Apogee & Universal Hartland. Everything was quite a mash-up, so-to-speak, back in the "old days", and sometimes it was quite difficult to decipher who was working for whom and on what. (That lead to some weird occurances like reporters walking in and out UNGUARDED and taking pictures of the blueprints of the Dyktraflex camera system - which eventually were used and refined by Disney for "The Black Hole" soon afterwards. In additon, camera equipment was brought from the post Star Wars stage to the BSG stage and BSG models were filmed on the post Star Wars stage which of course drove George Lucas crazy; one day they locked up the whole place and moved to another location, where ILM was founded.) Long paragraph, time for a coffee. :)

3. Several space ship scenes from "Silent Running" were recycled in "BSG", the Valley Forge became the Agroship.

4. Bruce Dern blew up with the ship in both universes. ( :D ;) )

So there is absolutely NO reason why the drones should NOT be part of BSG.

The master has spoken.

Carry on, drones... erh, guys! ;)

:)

I think if I knew all that stuff, my head would burst!! Interesting though, I think it would be good to see one done up for BSG as a Colonial Robot, and also Cylon version! :)
