Louie - Silent Running

I was shown a nice collection of card models (thanks Zathros).
While looking up instructions for the "Gunwalker" model here on the forum I came across a build of Huey, Duey and Louie.
I then learned that these models came from the movie Silent Running. After watching the movie, I decided to build poor old Louie.






"I know you're sad about Louie...But he got Careless. And you see what happens when you get careless?"

Louie is still out there thinking, "What the f*ck, man!".

Haha! Yeah, poor guy.
This part of the movie reminded me of a short comic by Joel Priddy, "Long Slow Flight of the Ashbot"
It's about a janitor robot who gets sucked out into space and floats through space for millions of years.
Anyway...Final shots!

I was body-boarding around the internet, and I saw that UHU02 also did a more detailed model of Dewey.
Amazing detail!!!
I might try this in the future. But, am pleased with how this one turned out.

We have UHU's in our "Resource Section. Yours came out excellent. That move, for some reason, is never shown on TV. I did download the whole movie off of YouTube but the resolution was not so great, but well worth the effort.

I'm just waiting for my month to expire so i can get to the real good builds.
"Silent Running" is a good movie. I showed it to my kids and they loved it. I'm surprised I'm only recently hearing about it.

Believe it or not I actually still shed a tear watching this great old sci-fi movie. I guess I take some things like this very seriously in the "what if" factor and how humanity can either live with nature or just destroy it and themselves in the process.
