Just like to know

Chessie,
Where most of my running is done on the modular layout, when it is set up at shows, I usually run twenty FEET of train, that's about 40 cars. When I doubleheadded my Alleghenys, I was running about 60 cars. On the club layout, I have run a 40 car train with a pair of N&W 2-8-8-2s one on the point, and a helper at the back.
On the narrow gauge loop on the modules, I've had up to fifteen cars on the train, with the outside frame 2-4-4-2 pulling.

Pulling Power :)

Z Gauge - 2 (All I have)

N Gauge - 4 or 5

HO Gauge - 4 behind the shay. 6 (Acela) or 15 behind the SP "Daylight"

G Gauge - 7 behind the Climax, 4 behind the LGB Switcher, and 8 behind the U-25B (U boat)

Standard Gauge - The 10E engine just goes around the X-mas tree, If I put the 3 cars on the track it won't pull them. :( But it looks great just sittin under the tree.. :) :D :)

Chessie,
I run a 1.2m * 2.4m HO setup. So I am limited in the length, but I can run 14 passenger cars (cause I can't fit anymore, cause it chases it's tail!!) I double head this, as I have some inclines that are a little too steep.

Usually about 6 passenger cars, though.

Chessie, I run around 20 freight cars in a train or 5-6 passenger cars with one 2-8-2 or 2-8-0 up 2.5%-3% grades but keep in mind that I model in HON3 and I build (even kits) extremely light and weight and re-regear my locos.

Chessie,
At the club I go to I have ran 50 car trains. While working the yard I have pulled up to 30 cars with 1 SW1500.When I finish rebuilding my layout I plan on my normal train lenght running at 10 cars. This is going to be a branch line type layout.

With the Local NTrak Club I have run trains with as many as 124 cars using 3 Life Like C-Liners on the point, although the typical length is 35-50 cars.
With our oNeTrak club the maximum length is set at a length of no more than 17 x 50ft cars including engines, as that is the length of our shortest siding.
Not sure what my home layout capacity is, as my new layout is currently in the planning stage and I will not be able to start it untill late August, when my new house is complete and we have moved in:cool: :D ;) :).
