This month's photo contest is The Box
As the original The Box thread was intended, this is a simple project anyone can do. The box in the photo must say "The Gauge" on it in some way (www.the-gauge.com, the-gauge, The Gauge, Inc., etc.), and you can add it on electronically or label your model box. So all you need to do is make a crate or box, label it as described above and get a picture of it. It can be on layout, rollin' stock, surrounded by LPBs or on it's own. If you refer to the box thread, there is even a box template to print out and build from.
This is not a magic competition, so altering of photo's electronically should be limited to sizing, and contrast/brightness adjustments. Minor alterations such as blurring out the edge of the layout, or a little loco smoke may be accepted. The photo and box must be your own, and only one photo per person. Please limit the size to no larger than 640 X 480 or 480 X 640 and 100 KB if you link from your own site. Although positive comments about the photo's are welcome anywhere, please post any questions about the contest or about any photo's in the contest here:

If anyone needs any assistance getting their photo's in, please ask for help! We can advise or do resizing and such for you. We're glad to assist. I'll even scan one for you if you can snail mail a photo to me before the end of the contest.

The Penn. flat car was delivered by the L & N to the WC & T, were it was delivered to the 37 Freight Depot, so named for being located near to mile marker 37. Two crates, that have been in storage for some time, are being loaded on the flat. The crew are still amazed as to what the boxes hold as they are also labeled with placards that have a skull and crossbones in the upper part with a red ? and triangle in the lower portion. They also figured something is unusual as the railroad sent along an armed security gaurd and his German shepard dog. All eyes are on the boxes as they are being loaded to go to who knows where. Operating the jib crane and securing the boxes to the flat are being done in the late afternoon. What is the meaning of all this action?
