With permission from Jaybats I have colored his star destroyer and made some minor changes to the pattern. I added some glue tabs and broke the super structure up for easier assembly. I also created a stand and braces for the body.

I rescaled the pictures to this size so i dont have any larger. I'm at work tonight and can't take anymore. I'll try to get some up this weekend.

ive been waiting a long time for you to get back into action!! :mrgreen:some seperatist ships would rock!:thumb: im waiting for your tutorials in pdf so i can start workin on something myself. unfortunately lightwave is not compatible with pepakura. the geometry translations get really wacked out.:cry:

Thanks Jaybats. That sounds like a good idea, I'll see if i can find some pictures of other units. If anyone has any good ones post them and i'll see what I can do. As for as battle damaged, I'm using paint.net to color it and I'll just have to try and see if I can figure out how to do it and see how it looks.

i've been planning on an animated-style Trade Federation cruiser and the Banking Clan frigate as seen in the final episode of the Clone Wars animated series... just can't promise when because i have less and less time to break for hobbies these days...notice that i can do meta models but not fully realized textures and print-outs; texturing and unfolding usually take about 60%-70% of the total time it takes me to make a cardtoy. i usually put that part off till the last, which results in me accumulating 3D models, that later i texture or printout at the same time; this is why i end up releasing in "waves"

i think the lightwave/meta incompatibility depends on the version of the LWO file; sometimes i get a pretty good conversion (e.g. the O'Neill), but other times i get the parts mixed up or oriented improperly; same goes for 3DS files.
 
hi i was wondering if anyone plans to do the General Grievious ship from the rots at the beginning of the movie? "The One Crawling With Vulture Droids"
 
The Invisible Hand. :) That's what it's called, I actually have a great mesh of this that would be perfect for a papermodel! If I only knew how to take care if the intersection in Meta without messing up the UV mapping. :(

I have two other Banking Clan ships too from RotS!

that's the Trade Federation Cruiser i mentioned...

Skip, it might be easier to do the meta model from the ground up (given that it's just a large deformed cylinder with fins), but using screencaps of your mesh to make orthos and textures. that's what i usually do with meshes that are too complicated.
