Installing a decoder in a bachmann U36B

Well HI All !! :wave:


I have been watching here for a while on the gauge.;)

I have a question, I am thinking of using DCC on my module layout as it would save alot of wiring. I already have a loco. its a N Gauge Bachmann U36B .I was wondering how easy it would be to fit a decoder as I have not done it before. I can turn my hand to most things. Just need to know what would be involved ! :)

Hi Sirrab,

Sorry you have not gotten an answer yet - I wonder if this engine is rare, so therefore not much collective experience with it? (I am in HO, so I don't know too much about N).

You might try either asking the decoder manufacturer what fits (Digitrax has a table of recommended decoders by scale - I am sure that others must too). You can also try asking "The Bach-man" over at the Bachmann web site. They may have decoder installation tips too.
