Hi!!!

WELCOME!

Hi Dave!
Welcome aboard!
Stop in & visit, & look around...
This is an awfully big tent, & I think you'll find a little bit of everything around here!

Hi Dave, glad to have ya here.If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Dave and welcome to the gauge. Have fun with all your new friends.

Hey Cid - Why a flat car? How about a hot pink "The Box", partially buried in the ground, with a crowd looking at it and scratching their heads?

Bill,
How about that Stevie Smith??
(figured you might be a sprint car fan)

I'm still working(?) on my table, so my 1st priority is to get something (anything) rolling. Then I can start with The Box.
I think my first structure will be Gauge Ind., which manufactures
Boxes. It's a challenge just making any kind of progress on the layout, what with the cats peeing on the scenery and all.

Anyone--did the American 4-4-0 really date back to 1848? How far into the 20th century was it still used?

Thanx
Cid from Olive Branch

American 4-4-0 (well Canadian, anyway)

Cid:
Canadian Pacific was using 3 4-4-0 s in New Brunswick until the late 50's. Reason was they had a light bridge on a branchline and keeping the small locomotives going was cheaper than a new bridge.
At least one is still running (144); another (29) was ruined in a major fire on a preserved line.
