I've just signed up and figured I'd start here. I've been working with a lot of freeform modeling, and just began in the world of pepakura. I have a ton of designs I'd love to find and build, and have even obtained 3d software to try to build my own. I have a graphic design background and work with 2d design everyday. hoping to make the transition to the real world if anyone has suggestions on where to begin. I have 3ds Max 2010 and the pepakura designs. slow goings for now but i hope to get some suggestions and help where available.

Welcome aboard and enjoy your sojourn with us. As fo myself, I do my designs the old fashion way, paper, pen, ruler, protractor and a bunch of basic math. I have 3D programs as well but I find that I can draw my ideas faster than with the 3D programs. I do use Gimp to color my designs every now and then but I tend to hand paint them. Hoping to see some of your creations around here. See you around the forums.
