I am putting a modern harbor in my layout. There will be a place for container ships to unload and also oil ships. Can anyone help me on what it should look like. Any one attempted this before?

I like the idea of a harbor. Lots of modelling possibilities there. You might try doing a search on the internet. Some ports have their own websites with pictures that you could get ideas from.
