Hello everyone,

I wanted to share my build of UHU’s scooter with you.
Since I saw it I wanted to build it. I liked all the round parts. It was my first model from UHU and I enjoyed the build.

So here it is in no particular order.

The front axle

Image744.jpg

I wanted the axle to be movable so I left the cone with its base unglued and added some extra rings of card to keep it in place.

More parts

Image504.jpg Image503.jpg

This is my “3D” Version of UHU’s graphic for the breaking system.
I used his graphic with two or three more layers of card glued to the backside and replaced the line with a wire.

the steering column

Put together with some additional wires inside

the completed steering-system

and some details

That is it for now.
more coming soon

You are off to a great start!!!
I have to say that this is one of UHU02's more difficult models. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out!!!

Thank you all for your kind words,

@Rhaven Blaack
yes i agree, i realized that too after i started but i loved the challenge. It was a nice learning process.
A few parts i made twice until i got them right ;)

Let's continue with the motor.

Image687.jpg

I installed some additional peaces of card to make this part stronger
Image696.jpg Image671.jpg Image657.jpg

Image682.jpg Image674.jpg

Image676.jpg Image675.jpg

Image681.jpg Image680.jpg

connecting everything together

Image660.jpg Image649.jpg

Image639.jpg Image636.jpg

replacing this Image387.jpg with this Image386.jpg and installing it on the motor

Image375.jpg Image357.jpg

and some more detailed pictures
Image367.jpg Image365.jpg

The basic motor block is done. I used ordinary wires for the lines. I tried to match the colors and the thickness but could not find exactly the same so i used the ones which were close enough to UHU's colors. They are not the same (especialy the green one) but that's O.K. for me.

I will continue tomorrow

Thank you zathros and Rhaven Blaack, much appreciated.

continuing with the seat (and saddle ?)

Image700.jpg Image632.jpg Image343.jpg

here i replaced the paper handle with a real metal one, i think it looks much nicer this way :)

Image327.jpg Image324.jpg

the saddle holder

Image716.jpg Image712.jpg

and part above it

Image763.jpg Image761.jpg

and together

Image689.jpg

The paper i used for these parts had a very convenient leather-like texture, exactly what i needed for the seat. Only difficulty was to get the patterns on it.
Printing black on black :hammerhead:sounds crazy but it actually worked. The Backside of this paper was a bit mat so when i was holding the paper in a spezific angle i could see the parts and cut them out.

Next will come the frame.

Thank you all very much, you are to kind.
Not everything went so good as the seat, i will get to that later.

As promised the frame

Main Body

Image609.jpg Image605.jpg Image603.jpg

the left side
Image596.jpg Image591.jpg Image580.jpg

and the right side. it's slowly taking the shape of a scooter
Image578.jpg Image588.jpg

I wished I had 20 separately controllable fingers to hold all this small paper stripes in the right position for gluing

a few more steps
Image568.jpg and done Image567.jpg

a closer look
Image566.jpg Image565.jpg
Image564.jpg Image563.jpg

closing that hole on the left side
Image523.jpg view inside Image521.jpg

The inner part already inserted
Image498.jpg Image500.jpg

Here I could not avoid the gap but since it’s inside and not visible …….

and here with the top base plate with some wires inside

Image476.jpg Image464.jpg Image449.jpg

Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos of all the steps

I enhanced UHU’s paper stand with copper wire.
A quick and simple Jig helped me with positioning and soldering
Image610.jpg Image614.jpg

The Copper stand is ready and I wrapped normal copy paper a few times around the wire to reach the needed thickness for UHU’s original stand parts to fit
Image455.jpg Image454.jpg

Two small pieces of plastic serve as hinges so I can open and close the stand
Image442.jpg Image439.jpg Image447.jpg

Image410.jpg Image407.jpg Image406.jpg

The bottom base plate I used twice to compensate the thickness of the plastic sheets and to hide them.
So, the base plate is made out of three parts sandwiched together
Image438.jpg Image436.jpg

Done, and just to see how it looks I installed temporarily the steering system
Image431.jpg Image430.jpg Image426.jpg

to be continued...
