Everyone, i need some help please!

Hello, i am getting ready to place an online order for some Woodland Scenics scenery items and need some input from you all. im modeling the AT&SF from Amirillo to Clovis and have a question for you..... would the ballast there be more of a brown ballast or more of a iron ore color? Also, what looks better in HO scale, medium ballast or fine? Thanks for the help!

I can't comment on the prototype color, even though I have driven along that line probably 50 times. But I will way WS fine ballast looks best in HO. I think it also looks better if you blend two colors. IMO, WS straight out of the bag is too uniform in color. Maybe you could do 75% brown and 25% dark gray, for example.

Just a heads up Steve I ordered some inclines from WS and found out afterwards I could have saved money by ordering from another site that sell WS.
