Read about the search for a doodlebug, which is now a discontinued item from Bachmann Spectrum. I did not find any reference, despite jim currie's assistance, to the Walthers' version....

Allan (abutt) sent me these pictures of (1) a cut down Bachmann version, and (2) a kitbashed creation that incorporates a boxcab and an oldtime combine. Pic's posted with permission.

PS - I think it's telling that my youngest (2 years old) has aquired the nickname doodlebug over the past year or so. My wife thinks it's a cute name, and I don't think she knows it's train related... shhhh!!
