decal question

would a deskjet printer (by H-P) make good decals using inkjet decal paper??

I used my Canon printer to make decals. I have used transparent for just colour ones as Woodie says but I wanted some white too so used white decal paper. A pain because I had to cut the outline so no white edges show.
It's worth it though because you can make whatever decal you want.

thanks guys, basiclly what id do when painting, is I paint the loco with all colors used (afer each color and cote dries) then I wil print the decals out, then seal the decals only with dull cote. Then I decal the engine, then weather it and seal again with dullcote. That worked with my 3 csx sd40-2's back when I was in HO scale. (8350 sold on ebay for $45 and it was an unpowered athearn!)

There is a brand of printer that prints white (it has white ink, duh). I memory fails me right now as to what brand, but if you're interested I'm sure someone out there could tell you.
