That sounds cool, I'm wish I had used a paint mapping tool with my Revised Fury model.
I mapped it the hard way
All of the techniques I know for setting a texture does not work in Pepakura 2.
Anyhow this is what I have come up with

This is the engine cowling for the Black Swans J2 Fury.
The reason it was so difficult to make a flat texture is that the model is round. since I can't use the normal warping tools I have to manually stretch and warp the texture to flow around the curves.
If you want an example take a look at some of the textures that are used for someones face. http://www.toulouse.ca/MyHead/TDM_Face.jpg [This is not me, found it on the web]
Its good to know that there is a freeware tool that can do all that for you.
