Does anyone know the timetable for CPR's 2816 vist through Toronto, Niagara Falls and Smith Falls later this month? Will there be any public viwing times?

My sister called to say that she say a big steam engine in Tottenham last night. I thought she meant 136 or 1057, but it was 2816.
And I missed it.
And I missed it.
CP #2816 is scheduled to arrive in Smiths Falls this afternoon (Friday 28 June) for an overnight stay, and then off tomorrow morning (Saturday 29 June) for Montreal - barring any unforseen difficulties.
Well, I saw it, but only just - and I have no proof! Sorry!
I got to Smith's Falls on Saturday just in time to hear the whistle, and race down William Street to the end of the yard. Seeing the Empress in action - even briefly - was incredible. Looking at the engines in the Museum of Science and TEch, and seeing videos, or pictures just doesn't prepare you to see this monstrous machine in action. What a beaut!

Well folks, the Empress has added a special excursion run from Toronto Union Station to Milton on Sat. June 12, and I'm going!!!!!! Tickets are $30 from Ticketmaster and a big thanks to Chris (the man with the connections) for the info!!!!

Empress returns from Montreal to Toronto tomorrow (Fri, 11 June 2004), passing Kemptville/Bedell, Smiths Falls and others along the way. Time for Bedell is suppsedly about 11am (if you intend to go to see her, please verify this with someone more knowledgable than I). I am starting to feel like I will not be at work tomorrow...

Ok, so I checked with someone more knowledgable - Julie at the CPR 1-800 info line. 2816 departs Montreal at 7am local time tomorrow. She is scheduled to arrive between 11:00 and 11:30 in Smiths Falls for an event from 12:00 to 12:30, at which time she will depart for Toronto.
So that puts the Bedell time perhaps somewhere between 9am and 11am, if all goes well. Julie did note that if 2816 leaves late she will be running close to maximum allowable track spped all the way. If the departure is on time, the train tends to run more slowly to allow railfans better opportunity for pictures.

I'm greatly looking forward to seeing her in Milton , Saturday June 12th .....should be easy enough to find I would think , haven't been to Milton in about 15 years .

Great info and pictures. I found out the side trip from Toronto to Niagra Falls before going to Montreal was a BUS :curse: tour. Did get a few minutes of video out by Bowmanville. WOW, what a sight.
Looking to chase it into MIlton then highball it to catch more as it comes into Hamilton. Although I have heard it was going straight to the Kinnear Yard behind Gage Park, not going into Aberdeen.
