Cleaning enamel paint from tracks

I thought it would be great to rust up my tracks with some German enamel paint, and sure enough it did a great job. Some areas got paint on the top part of the rail and needless to say it has to come off.

Would a razor blade work scraping the paint of, or would that damage the track.
 
Razor blade is OK. Try not to dig into the rail with it. 400 grit wet or dry sandpaper on a wooden tongue depressor or piece of flat wood will work also. Final cleaning with alcohol.
 
Use a piece of brass bar as a scraper it is softer than the rails if they are nickel silver. Make sure the edges are sharp.
