I found this at ecards. I've been wanting the CSS Arkansas for a while.
Several years ago Knife was working on a very detailed one, but the project died I guess. But that's life.

Anyway, on with the build. Its not very big at 1:200 scale. I have tried to build only 3 ships before this and the only one that got
beyond the hull stage was the PT boat, but I never finished it.
Hopefully, with sharing this build, I'll be motivated to finish it. :)

Actually, I don't think that I can be called a rebel, I was born in Indiana and raised in Arkansas, Indiana, and Texas. Dad was born in Arkansas,
mom was born in the same hospital as I was. My other siblings were born in Arkansas and Texas. But I DO understand your reference Z,
and no offence is taken. thumbsup

On with the build.
Hull plates are now mounted. I had to color the tab strips as the white wanted to show through the cracks. Dry fitting they fit perfect,
but when I glued them, I could not make them fit right. I was having gaps between the plates.

Yep! That is another time where you need to cut off those tabs! Far better to us printer pape and lap it over the joints and get them tight...it also won't add the double thickness which just makes a smooth surface look layered, and after the glue has dried you can use what-ever burnish tool you may have and compress those joints together... add all that to the fact the small scale just tends to compound problems...

Over-all it is looking good!

Today I was able to do some more. Still have the sinus infection, but it is not as bad as it was on the 29th, and 30th.

Wonderful. I am from Mississippi, and used to go to the Vicksburg National Military Park. They are still, slowly working on restoring the USS Cairo there, it was found burried in the mud of an Oxbow lake off the Mississippi and Yazoo rivers, sunk by a Confederate "torpedo".
