Bubble fighter of JAYBATS

hello everyone, first I want to open this thread thanking JAYBATS for this model, which is very beautiful and I loved building it. I watched the movie while I put it together.

Here is the resource link: https://www.zealot.com/resources/bubble-fighter.493/

I'm not very good at explaining things, so I hope you have patience with me, besides it's my first time hahahahahaha

the model consists of four sheets, which are printed on a 150gr sheet of printer cumun. This is because I didn't have others and the ones I normally use have already become very expensive in my country.
start with sheet 1 and cut out the three main pieces (see photo)
WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.26.55 PM.jpeg
then I started gluing, from the previous photo I started gluing the middle part and the right one from bottom to top
WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.26.55 PM (1).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.26.56 PM.jpeg

After gluing the pieces I started to join it with the one on the left as shown in the photos.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.26.56 PM.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.23 PM.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.24 PM.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.24 PM (1).jpeg

As you can see, make the bottom part first, which is somewhat complex and you have to take the time to dry each part to which the glue was applied.
then glue the missing rest of the wing, starting with the thickest part (see photo) and ending with the thinnest. I took the time for each part of the process to dry before continuing.

544 / 5.000

well here I leave for today, I hope you liked it. continuous morning. I recommend making this model from the movie LOST IN SPACE from 1983. It is very cute and looks great. I send a big thank you to JAYBAT for this model and also to this forum since if it had not been admitted here I would never have found it and I would never have had the pleasure of putting it together. This is my first thread so if the photos and the brief explanations are not enough, do not hesitate to write that I will try to answer them. Greetings to everyone from ARGENTINA !!!!!

hello good night everyone, this is the continuation of the thread.
Thank you very much for your assistance to the ladies and gentlemen who are reading.
following the model.
We will continue with the second wing, this is on sheet 2, and its assembly is simpler because it is a piece.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.48 PM (1).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.49 PM.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 7.27.49 PM (1).jpeg

As shown in the images, you have to start by making all the bends before gluing.
Good looking if they are two pieces but don't worry they are easier to put together.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-08 at 7.28.45 PM.jpeg
After gluing the upper wing, we go through the crest, which is a piece to which care must be taken, since first, as seen in the previous image, it requires many folds before being glued.
At the end of gluing the entire piece, there will be a slot left in the lower part which will be used to stick it better to the wing later.

After assembling the upper ridge come the upper ridges but with a lateral placement.
these are made up of four pieces, of which two are used to make one piece and the other two the next piece.

As you will see in the image of the sheets where I show the parts of the upper wing, you can see a black and white diamond that goes as shown in the image (don't complain, I don't know how to say it hahahaha)

Hello everyone, this is the last part of this thread.
We start first with the cabin, which is a simple part to do, you just have to be careful not to spill glue on it.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.47.jpeg
Once the sphere that would be the cabin is finished, we start with what is going to hold it, this part is quite complicated, so before starting to glue the parts, you have to do all the doubles first.
WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.47 (1).jpeg WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.47 (2).jpeg
then not the second part of what supports the cabin is the same procedure as the previous piece, only you do not have to finish gluing it so that both parts can be joined later

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.47 (3).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.48.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.48 (1).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.28.48 (2).jpeg

Once the cabin and its support are finished, we start with what would be the body. this part only requires a little patience when putting the parts together.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.05.jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.06.jpeg

the motor of a part to which you have to make the folds partially before gluing it.

then it is finished joining the rest of the body

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.06 (1).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.06 (2).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.07.jpeg

then just need to glue all the big pieces. Take special care when joining the als so that they fit well ( do not rush and do it carefully ) , you should also take your time to glue each part so that they fit well.

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.07 (1).jpeg

And to finish you have to assemble and place the spoilers as it is in the following photos

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.07 (2).jpegWhatsApp Image 2022-07-06 at 19.29.07 (3).jpeg

To finish I want to thank this forum for joining me and allowing me to find and build this model.
Above all, a special thanks to JAYBATS for leaving it in the resources (I really loved it and I congratulate you) and I hope to continue putting together threads about other science fiction ships that he has published here. since they are no longer found in the common channels of internet pages.

Very well done! Despite the fact that Jaybat's models are designed for easy building they might be challenging in certain respects, so major kudos for tackling one. I'm looking forward to seeing your next project! :)
