If you add all panels separately you will get real recessed panel lines. That would boost your model tremendously. :)
Another good idea - thank you. I will reprint the sheets and follow your proposal. I will do it with regular paper (180gr.). This will ensure that the parts already addet will still pop up as they were laminated to an additional layer of paper.

The new three-part-one is already giving me nightmares because of all the alignment issues of the texture. Again the lines must be straight - but this time there are three parts with different angles that must match. However, once this problem is solved - the door is open to any (and I mean ANY) versions in another scale. ;)

Next part (middle section) finalized. And then adding the extra panels to the nose section. Bringing some charcoal dust to the nose to highlight the single panels.

Looks great
It's just me, but that raised panel just in front of the canopy, just doesn't look right.

You are right there are some parts raised a little bit. I hope that I will be able to hide this effect a litte bit with the planned weathering. I want them to be raised a little bit although it is not in line with the original.

I built it at 1/48th and I raised that panel, but still... I know @Revell-Fan has lots of sources, it just catches the eye...

Basically the filming miniatures were identical but differed in the weathering, depending on what should be achieved. To my surprise the right side of the plane was very hard to come by. There are far more views at the left side. However, here are two miniatures with different weathering:

Viper_Original_Miniature_31.jpg

This is the cleaner hero model which I used as a base. You can see the big panel on the snout.

However, there is another, heavily weathered version which looks like this:

Viper_Original_Miniature_36.jpg

You can see that the panel was horizontally divided in two halves with different shading.

So you can vary the appearance a bit. However, do not make both sides symmetrical. The asymmetry of the panel lines and detail plates is one of the most defining aspects of the Viper and the Cylon Raider.

I now smoothed the edges of the panels with my sandpaper, and I have to say the panels are raised very little. I am happy with the result.
Next starting and finalizing the cockpit.
Thanks to all for watching and giving hints and tips. This is what makes a good community.

Cannons finalized with little detailling.
Next the wings: raised parts and all panels separately added.
I have to state that adding the panels leads to more stability of the parts.
High wing finalized 2 more to do.
