Dear All,

It was a long wait until the Viper was finally launched. I as a BSG and SW fan built the model immediately. It has the same size (1:48) as the Mark II from UHU. - So far so good, but my favorite size is 1:32. So I printed out the parts on an A3 printer and see.....it almost reaches the greetings of 1:32. ;-)

Here are the first pictures and the size comparisons.

By the way: My Viper was stolen by a pilot of the Rebel Alliance ;-)

...and I will print the parts of the cockpit again to create some more depth.

WOW!!!

I can already see that you will be doing what I'm planning for the larger kit. ;)

The main differences between the 1/48 and the upcoming 1/32 are three-part intakes and a three-part nose which will add a slight curvature to these components. I have unfolded them already and only need to texture them. ;)

Actually, those two black areas on the bottom of the cockpit tub are not pedals but in fact are remnants of the holes that were cut into the original cockpit tub mockup the actors used to put their legs through. You did not need to raise them. ;)

BTW, the ribs around the engine exhausts will be part of the 1/18 version. :)

This is coming together nicely!
If I may make one critique. The small rectangle on the sides of the top engine (the part that I circled in the pic) are supposed to be recessed.

Parts attached. I have noticed that the additional ribs mean that the tubes do not lie horizontally. So I made an increase to correct this.
Next the nose.
