Where do the turrets come from?
That is a very good question. After doing some research, I found a really good closeup pic on https://byyourcommand.net/ and used MS PAINT to recreate to the the best of my abilities. Here is the pic that I used as a guide for making my turrets.

Are you going to release them as a template?
Since this is a "ONE-OFF" build, I was not thinking about releasing the templates. However, with that being said, I have been toying with the idea of making a template for this turret placement (as a separate unit). However, if I do, I will need the assistance of @Revell-Fan to develop it and make it look right.

I think they look good as-is.

Thank you!
Considering the size that I am building these turrets at, most of the fine details are lost (basically very muted). However, if I were to make the turret placement that is much larger (say on the order of 30 cm long), I could put in quite a bit of detailing and greebling.

That's a good idea! An upscaled version of the turret.
Yes. (I am quite certain that @Revell-Fan will agree with me when I say this) I figure that there are those who like to build (JUST) the gun batteries from navel battleships (and destroyers), why not have one available for BSG.

The larger-scale turret is on my list. In fact I can do it in studio scale size because it re-uses the delta-shaped piece which is glued to the side of the Colonial Blaster. So basically you can already build the base of the mount. ;)

So, time for another update. I am now focusing on the Missile Silo Batteries. I am going to make two batteries for each of the top sponsons.

Here are the parts for them. Yes, I printed far more than what I needed, so that I can use the extra parts for greebling.

The top plate (with the black rectangles) is the base plate (since I will have the some of the doors open). The bottom one is the main plate (with the doors).

The plates are assembled.

Here is the battery with the silo doors. The three with circles are the top of the doors and the three with the lines are the underside of the doors.

The doors are attached (and greebles added).

The batteries are attached to the sponsons.

Both top sponsons are finished.

All four sponsons are now ready for mounting on the support pylons.
