Bandai GBN-Base Gundam HG kit in 1/144th

Only my 3rd Gundam in 20 odd years, but the grand kid likes to play with them...


and whats in the box,

Step one is the upper chest.
Then you add the lower abdomen
then you build the head...

As you can see in these pics, I am using my paints to add the panel lines, and any extra detail I can call out with paint.

Per my agreement with the grandson, I'll only be working on this when he is here...
But Mr Amazon made another visit and left me some nifty art markers,

60 different colors, Alcohol based art markers double ended, wedge and fine tip, for only 19.95 USD

maybe edge coloring will be a bit easier.

Jeepers, guitar picks for lids! You have quite an investment in paint there.

AV Vallejo still has a slight lead, but The Army Painter is fast catching up.

The Grandson spent the morning and most of the afternoon with us, his great grand mother, my wife's mother came to visit us earlier. So I was able to finish assembly and a good bit pf painting on the gundam.
The arms added to the upper torso.

The Gundam made, in a version of the box top pose.

In a very dynamic action pose, this model is very poseable.

the accessories are layed out at his feet, another beam rifle, two plasma guns, and the blades for the two beam sabers. (the handles are the white shafts on the backpack)

There is more painting that could have been done, but he wanted to take it home to play with... so he's a happy 7 year old.

Now I have created a monster, he' is on his second gundam now.
Core built up.

And he took it home before I could get another pic,
But here is the "Shield / Vulcan gun / sword.


I'll get the name and more pics when he brings it back to get this part.
