I happened to be in the right place at the right time, with a little money left. LHS in Kennesaw Ga on my way home from work Saturday, they got 12 in, this was the last one on the shelf.

GOOOOOOOD CHOICE!!! The Force is strong with this one!!!

I recommend to skip the plastic cape and make one from fabric. Women's underwear (negligés) fit best because they are seamless and have the right flow.

Trust me, I have done it myself and it looks so much better.

I have attached the template I made but I must admit that this is not the best solution, as I have found out later. This it how it is done better (I'll have to redo mine according to this tut):

This kit is fun! :) thumbsup

Taking full advantage of a day off at home, finished up the little X-Wings, and started on DV...
It starts with the head...
I decided to paint as many details as I can,
I added the silver accents to his face, the eyes are clear red coated to give them that little bit of color,
DSCN1186-1.jpg
the upper mask has the brass accents,
DSCN1187-1.jpg
the back of the head is multi coated, to give the flesh like appearance,
DSCN1188-1.jpg
and the collar has the silver studs added.
DSCN1189-1.jpg
and the frontal shot with the helmet.
DSCN1190-1.jpg

Next is the body.

I'm going to build him with the plastic cape, to get the measurements to cut my cloth...

I found some relatively cheap black "Peach Skin" cloth for less than $2.00

The chest piece is the show piece, all details hand painted, and the "light" have the silver base coat covered by green or red clear.

aand when picture uploading is fixed I'll post the pics... :) I Know that "Z" is aware.

And yes, my Vader is proud to wear women's underwear! (As long as it is black, of course..!)

I'll definitely have to add a proper underskirt to mine as well. Good job! You should trim the frayed parts a bit, otherwise it's great! :)

As for the sidekick, it seems that Bandai has a love for R2 units. whenever they need something to fill up their boxes they throw in another R2. Good to know that there are so many of them around - in different paint schemes. ;)

I had to wear compression leggings for a day, I felt like "Dr. Frankenfurter" from the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Longest day ever. :)

New pics with cape version 2.2...
DSCN1213-1.jpg
found some self sticky patch material, that I cut to size and shape, and made "finished" edges.
DSCN1214-1.jpg
and I replicated the box top pose, also added lead wire to the cape bottom, and tunic bottom to give it some weight.
