Just in case I have to escape the family and do a little solo wandering while on vacation - are there any RR points of interest in or close to Bracebridge; (And please don't mention the Santa's Village train ) - heading up the first week of August.
Anything RR themed in Bracebridge ON ?

I too would be interested in knowing I will be going over that way first week of Aug. Also if there's any train shows in southern Ontario 
I just checked the CARM site, and there are no shows in the summer up that way.
We do have a gauge member in that area -- will annand.
Huntsville has an operating steam railway -- Huntsville and Lake of Bays. That would be a vital visit.
If you get to Orillia, there are 2 restauants with railway cars -- Ossawippi Express and Weber's.
That seems to be the extent, except for a few caboose bodies.

Check with will_annand - He's from Muskoka, and his club has a train show sometime about then...
There are also some historical railway sites around - originating from the OA&PS through Algonquin Park. Depends how close by you want.
