Wow! I have never seen McCormick Railway Park alive with so much activiy! The day started out with a little rain however that cleared up and left us with some very pleasant temperatures. Usually, they only operate one ride'em train at a time but today they had two operating at once and usually had full trains each time around. There were bunches of portable layouts, modular layouts, the usual z scale briefcase layout, clubs galore and much more. The Scotsdale live steamers club was even operating and I don't see them do that very often. They even had 4 bouncy castles for the little ones set up out in the middle area. Well, I took 95 pictures but drastically thinned them out for a nice selection for you fine folk. Let's get started.
As you first walk into the park, you are greeted by Magma Locomotive #6. Behind that is a Santa Fe baggage car they have set up as a museum and behind that is a Roald Amundsen Pullman car. This particular car was used by presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, and Eisenhower.
On into the park, as I mentioned, not only were they operating both steam locomotives, they also had the full diesel roster on display as well. Scattered around were some smaller scale engines, some on display and some for the little ones to play on.
