A4 vs Letter solution for designers

This is a topic solved many times and discussed even more in the past.

For all those designers out there wondering about the difference between A4 and letter, and still not sure how to go about catering for both paper sizes, here's a template you can use.

The first image shows the difference between the two. The second image is the cropped page, giving you a 300dpi template to work from that will allow your models to be printed without the need to muck about with "fit to page", scaling and all the other silly tricks to get A4 on letter or letter on A4.

Gotta love Photoshop for making this so easy to do.sign1

This gives some measurements. I always make a canvas at 300 D.P.I. then just rotate the parts to fit. Scaling becomes a non issue, is this what you are saying. I got lost, please forgive my inabilities. :)

Correct, but because a lot of people use A4, if a design is on letter or legal, their A4 sheets will not be long enough.
The template I provided is basically the dimensions that can be printed on both A4 and Letter without any alterations needed by the end-user.
I'm afraid you're still stuck if you want to print on legal though. :p
