Hello All,
Here is a build of a robot character I created, then commissioned Dimensional Paper to engineer for me.
I'm planning on releasing it on my website as a free download, but only after I finish adding the details. As you can see it's very plain right now. I also plan on fitting it with a wire skeleton so it will be posable.
(Printers getting a bit old, as you can see on the edges of the paper)
That is really cool!! I could see my Cats going nuts on it though, but it is really cool. You printer just needs a cleaning. I take mine apart and clean them all the time. It is just excess ink that got on the rollers. It comes right off with some wither, and many Q-tips. Sometimes, a 20-to 1 solution of dish washing (dish washing, hand type stuff, not machine) should be used.
This happens as many machines use the ink itself to clean the heads, thus contaminating the machine. You could feed tons of paper through it, or just open the top cover and manually clean the rollers, take a paper towel and soak up ink from any sponge you see. Run some paper through, it may looks bad at first, but eventually, it will be gone. If your printer is an Epson, Epson has an utility to bypass the ink overflow message, if that ever pops up. Printers are surprisingly serviceable. Just take a picture if you take anything apart, so you will know how it goes back together!!
@Revell-Fan - Yeah. I was very pleased with Dimensional Paper's work. I showed him one picture and from it he made this. He even made an instruction sheet for it. Something which I never do:shamefullyembarrased:. I'll have to up load when I reach a full month. This actually inspired to go further into the craft.
@zathros - This could easily be put on a string and dangled for a cat toy. I'll try and clean out my printer per your advice...Hopefully I'll be able to put everything back in it's proper place.
