Howdydo - this one is just a quick one while i was finishing another build (see 'Greyhound' thread) and in need of a brain clearer. This one is a larger but simpl(er) kit from Fiddlers Green - the Airspeed Horsa Glider - my reason for doing this one was a nod to one of the movies of my youth - 'A Bridge Too Far' a war movie about the battle of Arnhem. The story centres on the British/Allied airborne troops sent in by glider to capute a series of bridges, the last being the Arnhem Bridge - which was heavily defended. A relief convoy of armour is halted before it can get to the men now surrounded and cut off, and so a plan for escape is made.
The model shows one of the wooden Horsa Gliders used to ferry the troops to battle - simple but great kit that as you can see by the pics is pretty large. Once built I mounted it in the usual fashion to sit up on the wall alongside my other movie based builds.
