Last 4 parts added to the head, the 2 cheek pieces, and the two piece headdress.

A little progress, and my grandson helped build this section... Shoulder pauldron,

And right arm done, started on left arm.

I'm trying not to rush my work on this one, so my grandson can help. He's getting better.

Just noticed that I forgot the decal for the green glowie eyes... Grrrr...
I'll try a paint option.

Okay, painted the eyes a base color of silver using Vallejo silver.
Pics taken looking thru my 3X magnifier that I paint little things under.

Once the silver was dry, I overcoated with Tamiya X-25 Clear Green.

Not a bad effect.

Since the parts are mirrored, I'm building both left and right legs together, just keeping them on the right and left.

Waist assembly is straight forward, the rear section holds the connector piece.

the front guard and cup attach to the back assembly, the guard plate swivels.

The side skirts are 4 pieces each and two decals.

Last piece of the gundams body is the backpack...
The grey section in the center articulates and represents the boost thruster.

The side pieces of the backpack are removable, to act as stabilizers on short arms.

This Gundam only has one weapon, the sword, And if you look in the area circled in red, you can see that there is a section of the sword missing.

This is most likely a "short shot" in the injection molding of the sprue.

to fix it I noticed a secton of sprue that is about the right size, and "spliced" it in.

Gonna give the glue a good while to fully cure, then see if the fix worked.

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome (gotto love it!)!
That is a great solution for fixing the handle!

Okay final update and thoughts. plus beauty pics.
I repaired the sword and "painted it with the Gundam marker.
20220503_181816-1.jpg

Thoughts on the process,
1) The Gundam markers suck, the paint in them is way too thin, and runny, and the pigments separate from the carrier on the tip. In the above pic you can see the separations in the film.
2) The Bandai plastic and Tamiya Extra Thin Cement do not work together well. The plastic melts with the cement, but it doesn't fuse together like most styrene plastics do. After a day to harden, the joints made with cement on the sword, fell apart.
3) This is the first Bandai kit I've seen with a "Short Shot" in the mold, Bandai quality control usually catches these type of problems. Other than the "Short Shot" the molding quality is normal Bandai excellent.
4) The Gundam liner markers are a positive experience. They work as advertised, and clean up quick with alcohol.

Overall, I still love Bandai kits, and I'll purchase more as funds allow.
Now the beauty pics...

I stripped the Gundam Marker paint off the sword, and painted it with Vallejo Oily Steel.
