Put a posed 3D SCENE OF THE SKELETON ON SKETCHFAB It’s the low-poly version with low-res textures so the page loads quicker

As always, thanks for the kind words guys Agree skeletons do have an unsettling grin. I hope mine is giving this vibe, it's sure not trying to be friendly :) A few more of the gallery renders. The chaise lounge pic exists because Blender Market’s product galley seems to be better with...

Finally finished this shifty looking dude. Going to prep a quick Sketchfab version this week Not only can he fight Argonauts, he's also much better than me at holding off keeping middle-aged weight gain ;)

Thanks guys, Just about done with this project now Prepping some files for Blender Market. Baked the adjustable material to individual colour, specular and roughness images For promo renders I'm putting a few poses through this red environment. Mostly done, giving them a bit of spit and polish

Quick screengrab from Blender. Usual 3-point-lighting plus an extra spotlight to put shine on the sword. Changed the shield bronze to grey to differentiate colour from bone. Need to make some renders for BlenderMarket gallery. Blue and purple make the best contrasting background for bone colours...

Got a surface going, as usual a lot of the effect is coming from the normal map A 4096px image is driving colour-ramps for colour, specular and roughness. It's a mix of baked ambient occlusion and hand painting, some proc noise too. Specular is kind of optional but it does add some lighting...

Managed to make some time for this, think the sculpt is just about done. I'll check it tomorrow, maybe make some adjusts

Got the skeleton rig working, not sure if It'll need more revisions Orange parts are the controllers. Panel above the head is the limb IK-FK switches

Finally got back to the skeleton. Base mesh has been done a while now. Got a posing rig working but I'm attempting to add switches to flick between IK and FK on the limb controls. Bit intricate and a lot of testing required but the principle seems to be working.

Thought I'd put the low poly props on Blender Market as a standalone product. Realtime version on sketchfab- I’m not fully down with this PBR texturing malarkey yet, I went with ‘metallic workflow’, might try specular next time. I like the way PBR surfaces look similar in diff renderers. Did...

Made these in the style of game asset Figured a shield on left arm might take more cuts toward the 10 o' clock position, no idea how plausible it's purely a creative decision The right side image is the same low poly object with normals baked from the sculpt versions Is rusty sword a euphemism...

Mistreated :) Metallic look is just the sculpting material to help me see details. Textured version should have rust and a wood grip.

Went ahead with a sub-D model of the xiphos rather than the kopis. Mostly squarish quads as I'm going to try to sculpt all the knarliness in. Gave the cross-guard a bit more shape than the drawing based on one I saw online.

Just like Barbie any decent skeleton warrior needs accessories. Not sure how I'm going to do these yet. Hard surface modelling not really my thing, prefer making organic stuff. Don't know if I'm going with a Xiphos or Kopis style sword but I'm not going to get too hung up on historical...

Same method as I do for the dinosaur skulls, paint rough polygon layout on the sculpt then re-topo over I never get precise with this which is why there's a few issues to iron out including N-gons Made some progress on the torso too but I think I'll have to shelve this project for a while to...

Thanks guys. I'm planning to rig the 3D model to be poseable, hopefully animatable too 'cause I think this will get it a few sales. Shoulder area are might be tricky

Made an orthographic template, might adjust the proportions as I'm going. The film skeletons have slightly cartoony proportions (which I like). I think I can probably get away with poly/sub-D modelling the postcranial part but we'll see. The skull needs a base sculpt though, made this rough...
