Same here. Plastic models are outrageously overpriced. So is the paint. Then again, printer ink is kinda costly too. But nowhere near as bad as plastic. Plus, when I screw up I can reprint the page. I still love plastic models though.

2001: A Space Odyssey EVA pod finished!

You know, I seem to remember having the Jaguar model many many years ago. I've gone through so many phases with models. Cars, trucks, tanks, aircraft, spaceships, and even a U.S.S Constitution sailing ship. I guess it's good that the real hobby shop here in my town closed! But then the evil...

2001: A Space Odyssey EVA pod finished!

This made me remember a couple of other models I made. One, the Orion III clipper, I built way back in 1971! The other, the moon bus, I built maybe 10 years ago. Wow I've been building models a long time!

2001: A Space Odyssey EVA pod finished!

Sorry. Wrong section. :) I bought it online at activepowersports.com. It was $123.50, which was the cheapest I found among the online hobby shops. Then I realized I didn't have decal solvent, so I had to order that later (my town has nothing in the way of real hobby shops!) I was debating...

2001: A Space Odyssey EVA pod finished!

Wow this was a fun build! The parts fit well and the decals were amazingly detailed. A word of warning - make darn sure you have decal solvent and decal set if you try this model. The decals have to fit over lots of bumps and curves. Here's the finished product.

A blast from the Dwarf past...

Hey has anybody seen a paper model of the Starbug from Red Dwarf? Just kinda had an odd thought pop into my head and figured I'd look around, but no luck.

Star Trek USS Ares - Anyone?

I've seen plenty of good models even when simplified. Heck, look at the details on the Narcissus that David Lukens did!

Star Trek USS Ares - Anyone?

Don't know how to do that either. I'm just a poor poor modeler. I download and print and cut and paste. I'm sure someone else can do it though.

Star Trek USS Ares - Anyone?

I dunno. Somebody's gotta. I don't do the converting thing. I just do the printing and the cutting and the gluing and the cussing and all that.
