    My first structure

Here is an update to the diorama I've been working. I've still not been able to get the dirt and gravel to look dry after I glue it into place. I've had to go over the areas with powders and such to get the dry look you see here. I've still got a lot to do but I wanted to share what's been...

Diorama finishing – keep from having the wet look

Wayne, Great post, I wanted to know if you have a problem with the ballast or dirt looking wet when you soak it with the wet glue. I noticed the ground foam looks good but the dirt is and ballast is still wet looking. I'm adding to those areas after it's dry and that works but the little...

    My first structure

One thing I did notice was the road shouldn't stop at the sidewalk, the sidewalk should stop at the road. I've gone in and cut out the sidewalk and will continue the road to the intersection. Who knows what I was thinking.

Diorama finishing – keep from having the wet look

Good points, I don't know what is a good ratio of water to glue and I didn't know it's best to first spray the materials before gluing. I like the idea of alcohol but I'm not sure if I should replace all the water with alcohol or just some part. Dave

    My first structure

Here are a few updated photos of what I've been doing. The roads are still wet and I'm sure they will be a lot lighter color when dry. Comments, good or bad, are always welcome. Dave

Diorama finishing – keep from having the wet look

I wanted to know what tricks are used to keep from having scenery look like it’s when you glue the scenery materials like grass and dirt. I’ve found that the scene looks like it just rained but I was hoping to get the scene to look like a dry summer day. Anyone have tips or would like to share...

    Maple Valley Logging & Millwork

Jim, The log truck looks really good and I like what you did to make the tire look as if it's been in the mud all day. What did you use to make the muddy look? Dave

    Walthers Terex Dump Truck

Well, I got side tracked and have not done the weathering to the truck because the quarry project has not made any progress. I've just been thinking about getting back into the quarry project so this will be a part of that. I'll be sure to post what progress is made when I get back to it. Dave

    Walthers Terex Dump Truck

Here is an update to the Terex Dump I've bashed. I got it white but I didn't like the way the white ended up chalky when it dried. I hope when I spry future on it for the decals that or the dullcoat will seal it. I have some more details to completed and then it time to weather it. Comments...
