Hello -
I have a Digitrax Zephyr and a small 4 x 8 layout. After blowing multiple DS51K1s I decided to go with a DS64. Since this would be my first loconet capable addition I have no experience. I do understand networks. At this point I'll just be using it to control KatoN turnouts and a DXO...
Well -
Drilling does not work. A 1/16 bit makes a 1/8 hole because the track melts after it picks up some threads from the felt. Nice place to put a photosensor for my signals though!
Im going to try latex caulk next.
I wont be using ballast etc, Just unitrack on felt + some buildings/signals but I feel the same way about the caulk. If it sqeezes out is going to get ugly. I didnt see any tiny screws at home depot, must be online somewhere I just hant found them yet.
Hello, I have a casual 4x8' N-scale unitrack set-up. I say casual because its laid out on felt which is glued to a sheet of 3/4" MDF. Its in the kitchen and looks good enough for the wife to let it stay provided I can move it when The President and first lady show up for dinner.
Id like to...

Sam and Herc:
Its my opinion that every loco on the drawing board today from every quality line mfg'er is being drawn with DCC std, and Sound and DC as options.
My PCM runs great, as smooth as my Katos but it needs some more programming on the speed curves before I can call it the best all...
When I say took forever I mean to ship my order, not once its moving. In fact right on the website it says it could be 5 days for my order to ship and im familiar with geography and ground transportation. I have no issue with that. They do have good prices, service, and selection but sometimes I...
Ive just been playing with my new Precision Craft Models EMD E7 with Loksounds factory installed. I can say that it blows away the competiton on N-Scale sound. Too bad I model modern era and PCM only has older stuff so far. I paid way below retail for it but Id pay the $200 retail each to...
Hoping to get an order delivered to CA by friday of unitrack.
I used toy train heaven last time and it took 2weeks. Anybody know who online can do it fast but at a great price????
I love BLW but they are low on unitrack stock.
Thanks as always - MarcO
Mason thanks for your help. I went from 27ohms to 123ohms and it progies fine now. Seems strange that the error went away at 27ohms but it didnt prog until i upped the resistance but w/e.
well - Lenz told me that I need to email Atlas, but they said that if I lay a 100ohm resistor across the prog track that should do it. I only had a 27ohm and it did get rid of the error, but it didnt reprogram the decorder.
At least now it acts like it works! Anybody have another idea????
I finally saw a few today at my LHS, looked like the DIs were a little less detailed than the katos but it was hard to tell. Thats all they had katos and DIs.
Im just getting into intermodel. I see every vendor has stacks in Husky Maxi etc. Which vendors make the nicest N gauge stacks in your opnion?
I like the looks of many but some are diecast (nice and heavy?) some are plastic (nicely detailed?)
I see a company called Deluxe Innovations has a...
Ok I finally got my zephyr in the mail (nice, worth every penny). set it up on my 4x8 N-Unitrack -
I have an Atlas #49364 SD-50 which came with a Lenz LE062XF decoder installed. The train runs fine, lights and all. Problem is, whenever i try to program it using the program track I get the "d...
Ok well my order is in. I saved enough on the unitrack to make the $170 Zephyr a non-issue. I can bet you that they will update the look on this model. Its very 70's compared to say the Atlas/Lenz.
Im sure ill have much more to ask/share soon! Thanks all!

MJ, Thanks the added info is helpful. I didnt know that I couldnt progy the decorders with the bachmann, Im sure ill want to do that. And I like the idea of running them by the road numbers. Its only money, and money is only good for toys.
Thanks fred, I am good with electronics and soldering, and as luck would have it the Polar Express is non-TMCC (not scale either but thats another peev). Perhaps ill experiment a bit.
