    Cutting Mats

Just read that if you soak your mat in water it will last longer. Suggestion was to soak in a tub of "cold" water overnight, then periodically with a wet towel every couple of months. Maintains the self healing part... Mike

Minwax Wood Hardener Paper Use Test

Bought a couple of cans of Minwax Wood Hardener, thinking it might be something to use on cardstock. Yesterday was warm enough (54 deg F) to do the test out in my garage. Didn't want to breath the fumes as the stuff smells and looks like the liquid cement used to make plastic models from back...

    lacquer

It's main purpose is for fixing "rotten" wood. Years ago someone had high praise for how it hardens cardstock-if I remember right they used a few coatings on the cardstock, once the model was made. Talked about turning it into a plastic like hardness. I keep thinking I'm going to buy some...

    lacquer

I've used the spray on lacquer that had a UV protectant to help save the ink from fading. Didn't seem to add any strength, but after several years the model is still nice and shiny. Used very light coats to cover it. Have heard of using minwax wood hardener to increase the strength of...

What Santa Does 5-Days Before His Yearly Travels:

Arms: Made a mistake on this phase of the construction. Got lucky and was able to continue this time. Mistake? Used parts of the Left Arm; attaching to the Right hand! Simple & Easy to make sure this doesn’t happen on the legs. Will only form each leg and boot at a time instead of all of the...

DIs and NCOs, how do you scream?

What is said here, What Revell-Fan just said, you must use your stomach to force the air out. One quick way to see what we're saying is sit down, then grunt. Notice how your stomach does the work? Now using the same method, say Who out loud using the stomach like you're trying to grunt...
