    1999 Robots, Megatron!

I couldn't resist my five year old's request to build him a paper robot action figure. So I dug around the web and found 1999robots. The files and blog are still there on Wayback Machine. A good Saturday morning build!

    XTRKCAD V5.x.x... Anyone use it?

I just downloaded XtrkCAD and started using it. Partly because Kato ceased producing a good old fashioned drawing template! I have a 4' x 8' surface my wife wants to build a layout on, N-scale Kato Uni-Track. As an AutoCAD power user, this program drives me nuts. I'm sure once I figure out...

Dr_Tetrode is down for a bit.

Well, I have good/bad news. Bad news is @dr_tetrode is recovering in a hospital away from the wonderful Valkyrie he was working on. I'm sure he will post updates upon his return to the workbench when his health allows... Good news is that he seems to be recovering as best is expected. Some...

    Next couple of special projects...

Given current events, I picked up this special decal sheet from Fallout Hobbies as well as some free StL files with similar doors for the Rhino and Landraiders. The Classic Space Marine pauldrons they provided didn't print so well on my fillament printer, but if you have a resin printer they...

    I created an Instructable!

https://www.instructables.com/Building-a-Paper-or-Card-Stock-Armored-Vehicle-for/ So, I've finally created a tutorial based on my experiences in papercraft modeling since 2018 when I stumbled into Zealot tracking down the Patoroch models Silveroxide was building and posting on DakkaDakka...

Battletech, where my miniature wargaming started...

...and where my 3D printing is presently focused! So, I've 'retired' my starter box that I acquired in the late 90's. I had all the components still, and reloaded them into this box and put it on a high shelf for display only. After all, I now have the new Catalyst Game Labs Introductory box...

35th Anniversary of 40K:Rogue Trader Contest entry...

A local game shop, Geek Room Games and Hobbies in Omaha Nebraska for those interested, is running a contest to be judged this January commemorating the 35th anniversary since the 1987 release of the first set of rules. One of the White Dwarf magazine articles covered how to create a vehicle...

Armored Trooper Votoms: ATM-09-GC Brutish Dog build...

What did I just get myself into? I started watching Armored Trooper Votoms this last week... And so, I'm back at papercrafting. I did a lot of research and found two models. One being Webdudes Scopedog which is a 49 page beast of a build, and then I found the Brutishdog from a designer out...

    "Red Skull" sculpt, polymer clay

I was inspired to pick up sculpting again recently. It is something I haven't done in about a decade or so, however when I did do it, I did A LOT of it. Sadly, most of those sculptures didn't survive the trip down from Alaska when I returned to the Lower 48 of the US about nine years ago. My...

Compound table for my Dremel drill press table

Not sure what projects I'll use this on first... ...it has been a while since I did some real machining. I do miss using a real mill (in school I used a Bridgeport mill for manual milling, and Haas for CNC milling). This cheap compound table cannot hold a candle to those capabilities though...

Battletech: Operation Homecoming; Stratos Mini Studios 6mm Mech build

Many years ago, the first SF miniature game I ever owned was the foruth edition of Battletech in the late 1990's. I looked forward to finally having my own job (the military) and a local game shop to play in around 2001 when I finally finished my training and got to my first duty station...

    Armageddon Pattern Basilisk SP Arty

After finishing the Rhino, and maybe doing a few victory laps here and there.... I've cleared off my bench and started a new project. I need some fire support, as in indirect fire support, artillery. I'm not a big fan of the regular Basilisk SP guns you typically find for Imperial Guard...

    Classic Rhino build (Patoroch design)

So, for the last couple of months, I've been working slowly on a Rogue Trader era Space Marine Rhino (so, design is crica 1987-ish) using a Patoroch template for a Rhino Mark I. Given how stretched the build process is for this one at this point, this will mostly be a 'photo dump' type build...

    Sudsy's paper terrain builds

Figured I'd start a single thread to capture 28mm, and other game, scale builds. Starting with some David Graffam buildings in both 28mm and 10mm (1:144th/N-scale, which are older...) I recently built. These were printed a few years ago, and were completed as part of my 'backlog' of paper...

    DIY Photo-etched Parts Bender!

Save yourself a few bucks and build one! Sure, it's a photo etched parts bender, but I suspect one could adapt it to paper bends and folds as well... I'll let you know when I get around to building one myself!

    Print and paint: Batman bust

Started a new print and paint project... I don't have all the vitals on the print just yet (if I remember...) but plan on posting those here shortly. Finally got some more good filament to play with though!

    Orktober 2020 Special: Gunwagen (Patoroch)

Took a little vacation time this October...errr...Orktober to visit dr_tetrode. Of course, if I'm going to do so, I'd better bring out my papercraft supplies, and a special model that is Ork related. Since I'm waiting on parts from Mad Robot models for my Sentinel driver, this was perfect...

Sentinel build (Sudsy builds another Patoroch design)

I've been threatening, and wanting, to build one (or three) of these for a while now! So, after finishing that massive tank.... 'Ere we go! Going to start with an 'Armageddon Pattern' armored Sentinel as a las-cannon armed tank hunter. Then I might build a scout if I have any energy left...

    Abrams inspired 40K MBT (Patoroch)

So, the BMP build is what got me started here and into hardcore paper model buildin in the first place. Sitting, since that time, has been the instructions and the file for printing off these Abrams inspired vehicles. To my knowledge, other than the real world inspiration and some 40k ish...
