    Orlando Model Train Exhibit

You never know when you will find an interesting layout. Great photos Tom. I agrre with tillsbury though that the track builders could have done a better job with the space they have.

Interesting photos Tom. Where next can we expect to see CP locos in action. The children look like they are just itching to get to the interesting places

    Displaying Trains

I guess dust could be the only thing that may have an effect. Most long term displays are usually behind glass to protect what is being stored

    Frustration On The Modular Line...

An interesting problem Steve. It is amazing what we find out. I use N scale peco turnouts with my DCC system and don't have the stalling issue. Are HO peco that different from the N ones? I can see that a large loco needs the #6 or better turnout.

Train derails in Calgary railyard, area evacuated as jet fuel spilled

I am sure the poor CN engineer must have been surprised by this. How does a tank cars own wheels manage to puncture it? One would think that dectectors would have shown up faulty trucks. Mike, you are off the hook on this one. Hopefully CPs cat checking is more thorough.

    VIA Rail security breach

I agree with Val and Stuart. I have used the GO train to Union Station for many years and have always felt safe. I still like to go there every so often if I have a reason to go downtown.

    flextrack

What I do is lay two pieces of flex track end to end in a straight line. They are joined with track connectors. I solder them and that gives me a long straight section. I then lay it around the curve with the soldered connection in the middle of the curve then when I reach the two ends I have...

If they work OK with DC then they will work with DCC.

    flextrack

It shouldn't be neccessary to solder the track together as long as you provide enough power connections. I would recommend power connection for each piece of flex track then you won't have to worry about track connectors carrying current. With this said, I do solder my track connectors but...

    Some Observations on the Industry

Just about everything has gone up in price these days. Look at the price for the Model Railroad mag these days compared to what it used to be. Look what you pay for a car compared to years ago. The same thing with house prices. Inflation is sure rearing its ugly head. It is no wonder that...

    Tale tale tells

Great work Jim. The "tell tails" look more like the real thing now. OK so now if guests get off the train to go to the hotel they are caught forever as the line goes "you can never leave".      That boat dock is a beaut.

    Walthers Turntable wiring

There is a reverse loop situation in turntables but with DCC you can add a module that looks after that for you.

    Plaster help

I use spatulars that I get at the local $ store. An interesting thought zedbob. I have watched commercial painters using those big spray units to paint ceilings. If one is lucky enough to know a painter with one of those sprayers then I suppose plaster could be sprayed on in thin layers. Very...
