I can testify that weird chemical reaction is happening during the process. It releases nasty smelly fumes. When I'm doing this procedure I always keep my face a good distance. But there are so many chemicals in our hobby....

The plane is beautiful. This anime story is for adults. It was a total surprise for me when I saw the film the first time.

And special felt pens for the gold on the spectacles and the shading inside the glasses.

The sculpture is a small edition in resin made by a Spanish fellow modeller that I forgot the name... (apologies to the artist). It has no scale, but if it was a human bust it would be between 1/10 and 1/8. It measures approximately 30mm (a little over 1 inch). Used Vallejo paints.

Porcorosso is a character of Hayo Myasaki's film with the same name. WWI Italian fighter pilot with a pig face as a self inflicted curse as a result of a war trauma.

I'm not a "purist" either. Whatever works, I'll use. One of the things I learned working balsa was that cyano glue hardens the soft balsa. Tested it with paper and it turns it very hard, kind of plasticized. This way it is possible to putty, sand and paint. That gives so much freedom!
