    OLSEN COFFEE - PART 1

CLEVER MODEL Mercantile brick building 1/48 I love the photo realist textures of these kits and being able to print as many copies we need, gives room to a lot of creativity. As a system I glue the main parts to 2mm cardboard. This gives strength to the model. In this one was a little tricky as...

    VICTORIAN STYLE TRAMWAY HALT SHELTER

I can testify that weird chemical reaction is happening during the process. It releases nasty smelly fumes. When I'm doing this procedure I always keep my face a good distance. But there are so many chemicals in our hobby....

    PORCOROSSO

The sculpture is a small edition in resin made by a Spanish fellow modeller that I forgot the name... (apologies to the artist). It has no scale, but if it was a human bust it would be between 1/10 and 1/8. It measures approximately 30mm (a little over 1 inch). Used Vallejo paints.

MAG NUN, A NUN WITH ATITTUDE

A caricature made by Ammon Miniatures, a French manufacturer, I think. http://ammon-miniatures.com/shop/mag-nun/ It is a 30mm high figure (1/56?) Good casting, one can move fast into painting. I haven't mentioned previously, but am using Vallejo acrylics for figure painting.

Bust of Portuguese Knight, 1143 A.D.

If I attend this year's exhibition, I'll post some photos. It is a lovely atmosphere, lots of short workshops happening on Saturday afternoon, shop stands, it is a fest. I'm out of competitions and have never been taking them seriously. I find awkward when someone protests about classifications...

    EINSTEIN

The sculptor made a great job (I cannot recall now his name). The expression he built is so good it helped a lot the painting work.

Hi micahrogers, until now that is what I've done. The big boost was the book "The Verlinden way". But in my area there are so many good figure painters and in a nearby town - Montijo - is held annually a great exhibition/competition where our Spanish neighbours show up. So the level is very...

A caricature produced by Taurus, an small European firm of an artisan http://taurusminiatures.weebly.com/caricature.html I enjoyed painting this figure. The caricature captures the humanity beyond the giant scientist.

I learned a lot in the workshop. There are things that no matter how many tutorials you watch, you'll never get there. I still have to practice a lot, eventually today I couldn't do again so good painting. I'm not affiliated in any club, I don't practice enough, I end up losing knowledge. It...

Bust of Portuguese Knight, 1143 A.D.

This is the work of my participation in a workshop with master Fernando Ruiz Ceano. The workshop was organized by Associação de Modelismo do Montijo, Portugal, in 2013. The class had a weekend to learn the basics and to do as much as it could be done. After 18hours we pretty much finished the...

    VICTORIAN STYLE TRAMWAY HALT SHELTER

I'm not a "purist" either. Whatever works, I'll use. One of the things I learned working balsa was that cyano glue hardens the soft balsa. Tested it with paper and it turns it very hard, kind of plasticized. This way it is possible to putty, sand and paint. That gives so much freedom!
