I&O #71 in Canal Winchester Ohio date 90ish

Larry, The passenger cars were part of the excursion trips that the I&O used to run in the very early 90's from Logan to Canal Winchester and from Jackson to West Junction during the Jackson Apple Festival. I worked as a volunteer on both excursions and was most likely on that train in the...

    RDC rubber bands

Jambo, I just happen to have a couple of RDC's with that had the very same problem. What I used was a few of my daughter's little elastic hair ties. It's a bag full of different sizes that you can find at Wal Mart or perhaps the dollar store and you get a million of them for cheap. There is...

    Goodbye to the V&O

It's truly sad to see the end of the V&O. I got the pleasure of meeting Allen and watching his original layout in action many years ago and it's something I'll never forget. I was a young lad about 12 and meeting Allen was at the time one of the greatest and most embarassing moments of my young...

    Erie & Southern - N Scale

I like the trackplan overall, especially the branch line. I read that you wanted to put some kind of yard in the plan. I agree with that but how about making it a hidden staging yard. Eliminate the siding against the wall by using the track closest to the wall as your staging lead which could go...

    Feb 15 Weekly Photo Fun

G.E.C., The crews were concerned about this as well and they have erected a stone retaining wall to try to prevent it from happening. I haven't installed the wall yet but it will extend the length of the cut on the cemetary side. I also have some funeral people to add to the cemetary to...

    Feb 15 Weekly Photo Fun

Thanks Chris, Yeah, I made the story up. I sometimes like to write little short stories to spice up a picture. It just makes it more interesting. Sorry Jeffrey, guess I didn't realize that they did indeed start on Firday's. I had this pic attached to the feb 15 thread and changed it. I was...

Feb 22 Weekly Photo Fun Greetings everyone, Just thought I'd add a pic and a short story for all to enjoy. Here is a pic of a church and cemetary in progress as an SD35 creeps through Blum Cut with a string of empty hoppers. Here is the backstory behind the naming of Blum Cut. The story is that...

Thanks Loren, My wife just never understands why I keep tearing things up. I don't try to explain. I'll tell you what though, after the amount of time I've spent rewiring this thing I'm pretty set on how it's going to look now.

A close up view of Sullivan Wood Products. Well this is all for now. I'll be working on some more of the trackwork today and fixing a couple of bugs in the wiring so I'll post some more when I get the chance. Hope you've all enjoyed so far. Take care.

The same industrial trackage looking north towards the junction with the mainline. The vanilla folder next to the lumber dealer is the footprint for the new Sullivan Wood Products building that will be here Wednesday. This is the former location of the Hocking County fair which has been moved to a better location. The rail has yet to be removed. As part of the expansion, the last three feet of this section will be cut out and moved four feet towards the back wall.

Greetings all, It's been a while since I've posted on here although I visit nearly every day but I thought I'd actually post something. I've been busy working on yet another expansion of my layout. I'm adding a little more mainline run but more importantly, the expansion has allowed me to spread...

Six-Axle Diesels and Table Top Dimensions

Chris, I agree with Andrew on this as well. You could just change the outer loop on one of the existing track plans and all you would have to do is add a little extra track where the new larger loop meets the inner loop. That's part of the fun of this hobby is taking a track plan and tweeking...
