    Diesel Engine Type

Wow, pretty cool...due to their size I would have expected them to have a longer serviceable life span...but maybe the size only contributed to their demise. Simply too much upkeep on a loco that size, especially if smaller ones can out perfrom her. Still a beautiful loco, and one I would like...

    Here is the sketch

I agree with Tyson, I think I would use the extension for some switching, but that is just me. Other than that, I like it and it looks like it would be fun.

    Hi, I'm new

Welcome I came from other forums where there was a lot of arguing and bickering before 'The-Guage' and can attest that you won't see that here (unless it is from your friends, but they never agree with you anyway...of course, we all know more than our friends know, so what does it matter, right?).

    Thank you

Thanks While it would be fun to build it, I'm afraid I wouldn't do much else with it (the TimeSaver). I am more into watching the trains run, than operations. Partly because I don't have a nice powerpack or nice locomotives that respond well at low speeds, but operations tend to bore me. I...

    Thank you

I will agree with Bill, I am in the same boat as plbab as I don't have the space for a permanent layout. I have found that diaramas can be just as fun, and they are quite a learning experience...a lot of things to learn that will save you time and headaches when you get to the real layout.

    Wonderful site

Glad you enjoyed the site. Some people like this gentleman, and others I know from here and Trainboard (such as Shamus) really do have a great talent for this stuff. It is a lot of fun to look at what they can do...

    Can't please everyone

So why do we get stupider when we are grouped together...nothing in this world dumber than a cluster of humans...except maybe Turkeys...and those who call in for Windows Technical Support on everything not related to Windows...does that change the 1 in 4 rule?

    Wonderful site

I stumbled onto this website the other day...it is really something. http://www.bat-ad.it/tallpine/ You can ignore the intro, and click the HTML option on the second screen, then click on the "CLICK TO ENTER" in the upper right. You will get a trackplan and several numbers that corrospond...

    Glue Removal

similar question I used a 50/50 spray of white glue and water (actually way more water than glue) to affix some scenery on a module. When I was done everything was coated in white goo, which dried into the ground cover and affixed everything wonderfully...except Lichen. The Lichen looks like...

    Z-Scale

Ambitious Z-Scale...that's pretty ambitious. I made the mistake once of remarking on how hard N-Scale would be to super detail, and was countered with a host of amazing N-scale works. I wonder what I would see in Z-scale super detailing.:)

    need to buy a switcher

I assumed from the look of the unit that it must be at least Proto 1000, but because they didn't specify, I couldn't tell for sure. Ultimately I decided to go with the Atlas S-3 unit. It looked a little beefier and a little older and I thought it would fit my time period better. It may be...

    need to buy a switcher

Hello all, I am going to buy a switcher and I am looking for suggestions. The choices are: Atlas S-1, S-2, S-3 or S-4 for $39.99 Life like EMD SW9/1200 for $39.99 Which would you suggest, which one would perform the best overall? And can anyone tell me what these roadnames are: FEC...

    new website

Running 2 trains on 1 small layout

If that is HO it looks like you actually have more than just 4' x 8' of space to work with. As best as I can make out the image it looks like you have an 8' x 4' section, and then the bottom of the "L" looks like another 4' x 4' section. If that is the case you actually have a lot of room to...
