    Help with computer

Just a little advice Hi, some of you who have had Windows running on your systems for a while and notice degraded performance may find this useful. As a tech support rep, first thing we do is "Clean Boot" the computer...it is actually really, really simple and can solve 50% of the problems...

    coupler replacement

I'm in the process of replacing the horn hook couplers on my loco's with some more prototypical types, and have encountered a problem. You can't tell from the picture but the circuluar hole in the base of the horn hook coupler is quite a bit smaller than the hole in the base of the prototypical...

    My son

For any of those who have wondered where I have been the last 3 months, I've had my hands full with this little guy. He is 3 months old, and his grandma had just gotten to him with kisses...poor little guy. Ok, back to trains now.

Planing Mill From an old M/R mag

You've only duplicated the photo's not the articles (at least I can't read that), and you have credited MR, hopefully that is enough. As long as it is not for profit (which it isn't). But mass distribution on the web like that, they may care about. It is hard to know what you can and can't do...

    coaling station

Vic, Looks like part of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR...was supposed to ride that last summer (as I have said before :( ) but they closed it for fear of fires. I like the sympathy...;)

    What printer to buy

I have mixed opinion on HP's...I do tech support for Microsoft and we get customers calling in every day with messed up HP drivers and helping them get the old driver off and reinstalled can be a real nightmare and don't expect any help from HP, however they are a good printer. Cartridge...

    IHC Passenger Cars

Not too bad I purchased a full 8-pack package of Heavyweight UP Overland on sale for $60, so for less than $10 per car I wasn't expecting them to be great, and I feel I got about what I paid for. However, my standards are not incredibly high. The Cons: I agree, the cars are far too light...

    coal mine

Curious Just curious on how this mine functions as I have the similar kit...I see the lower tracks have shorter hoppers I am assuming for raw ore materials? and the upper rails with full-length hoppers are for the refined materials? Just a guess, but if someone could explain it to me I would be...

    )#*% computer!

Hello Michael, wish I could be of more help but the BIOS is not my field of study... Contact the original manufacturer of the BIOS if they are still around. Sometimes, such in the case of Packard Bell, the computer company is gone, but the company that wrote the BIOS is still supported. If...

    For Vic

I love that narrow guage steam...I was supposed to take a ride on the narrow guage Cumbres and Toltec down in Southern Colorado and New Mexico but that fell through because of the fire hazards this year...gonna have to try that again. The Durango and Silverton opened up about that time, but I...

    Easy to assemble tracks

Good stuff Actually I have quite a bit of this Power-loc track and I love it. It does just snap together and the power connections are perfect. You can have a simple loop and some sidings and such set up in a matter of minutes and with a good loco (something other than Lifelike) it is smooth...

Long time no see, but I have a question

Hi gang, been offline for quite a while and see a lot of new faces, but some familiars as well. Been lurking when I had the chance but haven't posted in...well...forever. As I have my first baby coming up in Febraury and just finished college (at last) my life is in transit so don't know how...
