    more ballast questions

Hello again. I have tried putting down some ballast on a small section of my layout. I used a mixture of white glue, water, and watersoftener to hold it down, but I can't get it to say on the sides. The sides are slightly sloped and the drip of glue just rolls off. What should I do? I have...

    Gypsolite?

Hi again, I want to build 2 mountains(both with tunnels) on my layout. I plan on making the skeleton out of cardboard strips and using plasterwrap over that, but in a book a read about layouts they use gypsolite on top of the plasterwrap? Is that important? if not what should I do instead? thanks

    bench testing old 2020 loco

well, you could (im assuming it is three rail track) Just cut two 5-10" wires and hook them to the transformer one to each connector on the transformer and then hook one to the center rail of the track and one to an outside rail(doesnt matter which). It is best to just bend them around the...

Just trying to take care of my hubby

Lionel, MTH, and K-line are probably the best known and easiest to find o gauge manufacturers. They all have pretty rugged starter sets with track and transformer that would fit you budget. K-line however has just been bought out by lionel so it may only be available through the Christmas 06...

I have alot of lionel books and they say that the lionel tower does spin from bulb heat. I don't think it would take too long for it to start spinning maybe 60 sec.

Thanks, I have bought from ebay a few times, so far I haven't had any problems. I love to go to train shows, but they come to my area so rarely I need somewhere else. I will try the sites you suggested, thanks again.

Just trying to take care of my hubby

Welcome, I got a Lionel O gauge set at the age of three, it still runs as if it were brand new. Mine is an O gauge. That might be best because little ones can handle them, and they are great quality and are good for adults(your husband) as well. Good Luck!

    O or 027 ?

I think that o-27 is 27 in. when in a circle and that o is from either 31" diameter circle all the way up to 72". Just in case you don't have any track from the set, sometimes on the bottom of the locomotive or around the motor it will say if it is O or O-27. Just in case you don't know, ol-27...
