Excellent model. By happenstance I am busy upscaling this model to 1:18 to match the X-Wing size and adding details such as the cockpit etc. Now for a really Star Wars question, how does the canopy on this one open? I can't find any reference to this anywhere!! Please help anyone who knows!

The trick I learnt with building extra big models and hiding it from the wife is build all the parts first and then put it together last and when done stand back and look surprised that it turned out that big! The trick is to look innocent while denying any knowledge of the final size :) Model...

Nope, no clean room zathros, I haven't managed to convince the wife to allow me that yet! :)

dnalor, it needed some reinforcement and the internal spine is in 2mm thick card. Have added a few extra parts to the rear to make the entire wing joint much stronger and to allow the frame to brace the wings instead of just the central spine. If only I could get the go ahead form the designer...

An update on the interior build

I use Adobe Illustrator, work out the current scale and then upscale to the size i am looking for. At least with AI you can rely on vector and don't get any pixilation when you scale up.
